Trader consensus on Polymarket heavily favors Beinir Johannesen as the next Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands at 66.5%, driven by his Union Party's plurality win of nine seats in the April 29, 2024, Løgting election, positioning him to lead coalition negotiations. Incumbent Aksel V. Johannesen's Social Democrats secured seven seats, trailing but retaining viability for a potential minority government or opposition role at 22%. Smaller parties' leaders—Jenis av Rana (Progress), Ruth Vang (Center), Bárður á Steig Nielsen (People's), and Høgni Hoydal (Republicans)—trail due to fewer seats and coalition math challenges. Recent developments include Johannesen's mandate to form a government, with talks ongoing amid historical Union-led coalitions, though no deal is finalized, keeping uncertainty alive.
